Community Service Scholarship

The Active 20-30 organization serves the United States and Canada and provides young adults an opportunity for personal growth, friendships, and leadership development while improving the quality of life for the special needs of children in its community. The Active 20 -30 Club of Greater Sacramento #1032 consists of young women ages 21- 39 from the Greater Sacramento area who volunteer their time to help children in the local area through fundraising and hands-on events.

As part of that mission, we are pleased to announce our Community Service Scholarship program to recognize high school senior women who have excelled academically and are involved in community service.

Three scholarships will be awarded in 2012 -- one $1,000 scholarship and two $500 scholarships. The number of scholarships and amount may vary year to year. Eligible applicants are high school senior women graduating in 2012 from a public or private high school within Sacramento County, who have a 3.0 or higher GPA, community service/volunteer experience, and plan to attend a community college or four year university. Financial need is not a requirement but may be taken into consideration along with other qualifications, and applicants are encouraged to discuss this in their essay. Applicants must fill out the application and submit a copy of their high school transcript and an essay that is no longer than 2 pages double spaced.

Applications are due to the Active 20-30 Club of Greater Sacramento #1032 by Monday, March 5, 2012 and must be complete for consideration. Applicants can expect a response by early to mid April 2012.
